The start of MFW on March 15 marked a milestone by making sustainable fashion the epicenter of attention in Punta del Este. This third edition of the event brought together committed fashion enthusiasts, all driven by sustainability, who gathered to analyze and propose trends and solutions to curb the negative impacts of the textile industry on our planet.

The event began with a series of lectures where topics such as the union between Latin American countries and the similar realities they face in the field of fashion and cultural heritage were discussed. The participants, coming from various brands and enterprises committed to fashion and sustainability, addressed a wide range of topics, from the use of natural fabrics to solutions to promote education, politics and sustainable industry.

Doris Helena, Director of the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation, and Jose Forteza, global ambassador of Universo Mola, welcomed the attendees, highlighting the importance of bringing Latin American fashion to the world. Valentina Suárez, director of Mola, highlighted the continuous work to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable fashion worldwide.

Promoted by the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation, the main objective of the UMFW (Mola Fashion Week) is to promote the sustainable fashion industry in the region, as well as to disseminate art, culture, and local gastronomy. The aim is to create collective awareness about fashion, responsible consumption, recycling,

sustainability, the environmental impact of the textile industry, and

promoting circular economy.

The day was marked by various activities, such as the Mola Challenge by Galanti School, a formal event on the beach and the presentation of the Fashion Manifesto. It was a day full of reflection and understanding about the environmental problems associated with the fashion industry, consolidating the fashion community's commitment to sustainability and care for the environment.

Finally, our Director of Universo Mola, Valentina, introduced our Fashion Report 2023 summary. She has also focused on topics such as better labor systems, smart material choices, and circular systems, among others.

We continue today and Sunday with more activities, parades, and brand presentations.
