- First Sustainable Fashion Congress in Mexico by Universo MOLA.
- October 27th and 28th, 2025, at ITESO University in Guadalajara.
- Two days of talks, pop-up for upcycling projects and emerging designers, and networking opportunities.
On October 27–28, 2025, Hilos, the independent festival of conscious design and sustainable fashion, returns with a new edition. For the first time in Mexico, this edition will take place at ITESO University in Guadalajara. With the aim of strengthening and expanding knowledge, sustainable and regenerative practices within the fashion industry, Universo MOLA is leading this event for the third time and is traveling to a new destination to showcase its attributes and continue connecting voices across Latin America.
Hilos es una de las propuestas culturales de Universo MOLAHilos is one of the cultural initiatives of Universo MOLA, the movement that, since 2016, has sought to transform the Latin American textile and fashion industry by raising awareness through the promotion, development, and visibility of sustainability as a key factor in the production of our fashion.
CLOTHING CIRCULATION
The main impact project proposes to circulate more than 1,400 unused items (accessories and clothing) donated and recovered by the brands LOB and Abacá and redesigned using upcycling techniques by more than 25 students from universities in Guadalajara. This allows to showcase new local designers and brings issues concerning sustainability in fashion to the table.
These mini collections will be on sale during the congress, providing financial support to the designers and donating a percentage to the Entre Soles y Lunas Foundation. Likewise, garments in perfect condition will be on sale without any alterations to contribute to the funds raised for the Latin American NGO.
PROMOTING LOCAL TALENT
In this regard, coordination and cooperation are promoted with institutions that collaborate with the program's primary objective, which is to impact and transform the social fabric and the territory with sustainable practices. That is why Hilos is co-organized with ITESO, a university with a wide reach in its region and a very broad academic offering, and with the Centro de Diseño de Modas, a space with which Universo MOLA has previously worked, training its teachers and students.
In addition, Hilos México will feature the participation of 10 local emerging designers and brands focused on sustainability, in a pop-up space provided by the event for the sale of their products. This will help strengthen the social fabric and economic dynamics in Guadalajara through positive impact.
Pop Up Brands: Yanel Artesanías, GuiRi, Arekú, Sarafreika, Konn Accesorios, Ach+, Trapillo Pillo, Verde Amor, Naturia Tienda Artesanal.
HYBRID INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS
In a relaxed and enthusiastic setting, this third edition of Hilos, unlike previous editions, will take the form of a congress and offer attendees a fascinating two-day program of essential and topical discussions led by more than 25 top-level speakers.
