The Foundation Entre Soles y Lunas’ program, Universo MOLA, as part of the Universo MOLA Fashion Week, will carry out diverse talks and networking events in London, Madrid, and Barcelona. 

 

LONDON

On October 30th, London will host “Accelerating Sustainability for the Future,” a new MOLA Fashion Talks that invites participants to reflect on the climate crisis and seek solutions to give back in abundance to the planet. What can we do to regenerate our lives through the influential fashion industry? Do artificial intelligence or the metaverse are sustainable offer regenerative options to accelerate the change? 

 

The event will be held at the Colombian Consulate in London and will feature keynote speeches by renowned experts, including Valentina Suárez, UM Director; the Peruvian designer and artist Genaro Rivas; and Colombia / Chile, creative director of Anciela. To finish, a networking event will be held. 

 

MADRID

To start November, Madrid will open its doors to receive its MOLA Fashion Talks entitled “Involucrando a la comunidad en el hacer de la moda” (“Engaging the community in the making of fashion”). On November 3rd, the event will be held at the university center ISEM where a comprehensive perspective will be presented about all the links in the textile industry chain. It is important to recognize each of the parts as human capital, handcrafted labor, the role of non-profit organizations, and the contributions of all the communities involved. 

 

The agenda includes diverse inspirational talks presented by renowned figures, among them Paloma García, president of SIC MODA and director of CSFW Madrid. Silvia Pérez Bou, ISEM Fashion Business School, and Valentina Suárez, Director of Universo MOLA. The encounter will finish with a panel discussion that will include the participation of deluxe guests and will be moderated by Paloma García. Among the panelists are Nuria Rodriguez Sánchez, Founder and CEO of EcoVisc Confección Sostenible; Elena de Frutos, creative director; and Ana Belén Noriega Bravo, General Secretary of PEFC España Spain. 

 

BARCELONA

In turn, on November 7th, Barcelona will welcome MOLA Fashion Talks with its theme of “Elevando la consciencia colectiva” (raising the collective consciousness). The event will be held at the IED Barcelona (Istituto Europeo di Design), where the focus will be on the creation of communities to generate a history, a narrative and thus capture the potential consumer, leading them to become a part of the process.

 

It is important to recognize that communication is no longer prioritizing the sale of a product, but rather opening the collective conscience that is generated through the creation of linking points between the people involved, teaching and learning from each other. 

 

The agenda includes an opening made by the IED and the Foundation Entre Soles y Lunas, then a panel discussion led by Valentina Suarez (Director of Universo MOLA), Gabriella Pedranti (representative of the Asociación de Moda Sostenible de Barcelona), Pablo Erroz (coordinator of the master’s degree in Masculine Fashion Design at IED Barcelona), and the special participation of Marina Vergés, journalist and founder of the inclusive fashion brand Free Forme Style. And to finish the day, there will be a space for networking and cocktails to be able to connect with those who attended.
