In Latin America, indigenous peoples keep their traditions alive while promoting more responsible consumption.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Colombia, the Arhuacos, Kankuamos, and Wiwas work with natural fibers to create sustainable textiles:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Criollo cotton<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: grown without pesticides, hand-spun, without polluting industrial processes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Fique<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: a resistant and biodegradable plant fiber used in backpacks and tapestries, with a lower environmental impact compared to synthetic materials.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Support and marketing programs have allowed these textiles to reach both national and international markets.
